Born in 1952 at Mbanga, EJAKE MBONDA Thomas is a son of the Moungo Division in the Littoral Region, Republic of Cameroon.
From 1979 to 1981, he studied civil administration at the Advanced National School of Administration and Magistracy.
Prior to his appointment to the Electoral Board, this Senior Civil Administrator, superscale, on retirement, had held the following positions:
• Service Head for Civil Liberties in the Ministry of Territorial Administration, from 1982 to 1983;
• First Assistant Senior Divisional Officer for Océan in Kribi, from 1983 to 1988;
• Sub-Divisional Officer for Zoetélé, from 1988 to 1992;
• Secretary General for the North-West Province, in 1992;
• Director of Local and Regional Authorities in the Ministry of Territorial Administration, from 1992 to 1993;
• Senior Divisional Officer for Mbam et Inoubou in Bafia, from 1993 to 1998;
• Senior Divisional Officer for Logone et Chari in Kousseri, from 1998 to 2000;
• Senior Divisional Officer for Sanaga Maritime in Edéa, from 2000 to 2001;
• Governor of the Centre Region in Yaounde, from 2001 to 2003;
• Governor of the South-West Province in Buea;
• Inspector General in the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation, from 2005 to 2007.
Mr EJAKE MBONDA Thomas is Commander of the National Order of Valour.
By virtue of two decrees signed by the President of the Republic, Mr Ejake Mbonda Thomas was appointed as a member of the Electoral Board. He took oath on 29 January 2009 before the Supreme Court, sitting as the Constitutional Council: “I swear to fully and faithfully discharge my duties and to exercise my office without fear or favour in accordance with the Constitution and laws in force, to ensure the confidentiality of proceedings and votes, to abstain from taking public positions and to decline any consultation on matters falling within the purview of Elections Cameroon.”
