The honourable member of the Electoral Board, Mr MBOUTOU ZE Jean Bernard, was born on 2 July 1968 in Djoum. He hails from Djoum Sub-division in the Dja et Lobo Division, in the South Region.
His academic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Yaoundé II, Soa. He is also a graduate of ENAM in General Administration.
Honourable MBOUTOU ZE Jean Bernard began his career as Service Head at the Ministry of Transport. After two years in the road safety service, Mr Mboutou Ze joined CONSUPE as an auditor in 2006.
Between 2008 and 2018, the new member of the Electoral Board successively held the positions of State Controller for six years before being promoted to State Inspector, a position he held until 2016. ” From section head in 2016, Mr MBOUTOU ZE Jean Bernard became Secretary General of CONSUPE in 2018, a position he held until his appointment as a member of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon.
Honourable MBOUTOU ZE is married and has four children.
On 20 December 2024, the President of the Republic appointed Mr MBOUTOU ZE Jean Bernard as a Board member of Elections Cameroon.
On 17 February 2025, he took the following oath before the Constitutional Council: “I swear to fully and faithfully discharge my duties and to exercise my office without fear or favour in accordance with the Constitution and laws in force, to ensure the confidentiality of proceedings and votes, to abstain from taking public positions and to decline any consultation on matters falling within the purview of Elections Cameroon.”
