Born on 11 April 1967 in Ossing-Manyu, Christopher Tiku Tambe is originally from the South-West Region of the Republic of Cameroon.
After completing his university studies between 1989 and 2004, he obtained a Bachelor of Law (LLB) Degree in 1992 from the University of Yaounde, Cameroon. He obtained a Master of Law (LLM) from the University of Hull, England, in 2004.
Prior to his appointment as a member of the Electoral Board, he held the following positions:
• Head of the B. Sooknanan & Associates Law Firm, Lesotho, from 1998 to 2002;
• Executive Director of Christ Debt and Legal Consultancy (PYT) Ltd, Lesotho from 2001 to 2003;
• Assistant lecturer in the department of law, University of Buea from 2010 to 2023;
• Regional Head of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission, Buea.
Christopher Tiku Tambe is the author of several research papers, reports and other publications.
By virtue of four decrees of the President of the Republic, Mr. Christopher Tiku Tambe was appointed member of the Electoral Board. He then appeared before the Supreme Court sitting as the Constitutional Council in 2019, 2015, and before the Constitutional Council in 2019 and 2025 to take the following oath: “I swear to fully and faithfully discharge my duties and to exercise my office without fear or favour in accordance with the Constitution and laws in force, to ensure the confidentiality of proceedings and votes, to abstain from taking public positions and to decline any consultation on matters falling within the purview of Elections Cameroon.”
