A delegation of members of More Women in Politics have appreciated ELECAM for adopting strategies that have boosted the registration of women and youths on the electoral register.
Speaking during a working visit with some members of the Electoral Board, the President of More Women in Politics, Pr. Justine DIFFO TCHUNKAM, said that the percentage increase in the number of women and youths registered is thanks to voter education, sensitisation, and mobilisation campaigns ELECAM organises yearly, targeting these categories of voters.
She and her team, however, solicited for the Electoral Board to add its voice to theirs in advocating for the amelioration of the number of women representations on candidature lists during elections and for the percentage representation to be specified in the electoral code.
After listening to their plea, the chairperson of the Electoral Board, Dr. ENOW Abrams EGBE, assured them of the readiness of ELECAM in the capacity building of women and advocacy for their inclusion in the electoral process.
