On 3 June 2026, the Director General of Elections presided over the official ceremony to install Mr ZOFOA NJOYA SAKE as Regional Delegate of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) for the West Region.
Born on 21 February 1973 in Babungo, Mr ZOFOA NJOYA SAKE is a seasoned executive within the institution. Since joining ELECAM in 2010, he has held several senior positions. His career has taken him successively to the positions of Council Branch Head for Ako in 2016, Divisional Branch Head for Donga-Mantung in 2021, Regional Delegate for North-West in 2022, and then Regional Delegate for the South-West in 2024.
Transferred to the West Region on 12 May 2026, he officially took office, replacing Mr ABDOULLAHI BOBOE, who has been appointed Regional Delegate for South-West.
During the ceremony, the Director General of Elections outlined the Regional Delegate’s main responsibilities, notably planning and monitoring of elections and referendums, supervising voter registration, managing the regional electoral register, and coordinating the region’s human, material and financial resources.
Addressing the new regional boss, he emphasised the importance of maintaining a climate of peace, security, discipline and healthy collaboration within the working environment, in order to ensure a smooth running of upcoming elections. He also urged him to ensure an optimal functioning of branches under his authority, in accordance with the standards of professionalism, efficiency and performance that characterise ELECAM’s mission.
