FACT-CHECKING | NO, ELECAM has NEVER  launched a web portal to RECRUIT election officials for the 2025 presidential election.

🔍 For several days now, information has been circulating on social media and instant messaging groups claiming that Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) has launched a special website to recruit large numbers of new staff and election officials to work on the commissions for the 2025 presidential election. This piece of misinformation is accompanied by a link to a recently created fraudulent website.

This information is false and the website in question has no connection with ELECAM.

🔗 The shared link redirects to a fraudulent website, recently registered and with no official extension (such as cm or *.gov.cm).

📆 According to WHOIS data, this domain was created recently, just a few days before the rumour was spread.

🌐 ELECAM’s official website remains www.elecam.cm, which is ELECAM’s only official institutional portal.

🚨 Beware of phishing!

This fake website is likely intended to:

– Collect personal or professional information for dubious purposes;

– Defraud money as ‘application fees’;
