Section 74 of the Electoral Code provides that the annual revision of electoral registers commences on the 1st of January and ends on the 31st of August every year. That notwithstanding, the annual revision or, where appropriate, the recompilation of electoral registers must be suspended on the date when electors are convened for the election of the President of the Republic. Barely a few weeks away from the convening of electors in accordance with the election calendar, Elections Cameroon has, since 12 June 2025, embarked on a far-reaching communication drive in audio-visual and online media in view of informing and raising the awareness of Cameroonian citizens on the suspension of voter enrolment immediately electors are convened.
In this respect, the campaign message dwells on two key aspects whereby citizens not yet enrolled are encouraged to do so without any waste of time, considering that time is fast running out. On the other hand, those who wish to change their polling station, because they have moved to a different residential area must contact the ELECAM Council Branch office in their new area of residence for it to be done.
ELECAM is also making use of community radios to spread this message over all localities in rural areas through a wide broadcast in local languages.
Social media are also solicited through the daily publication of the field deployment calendar of mobile teams in various localities, to carry out voter enrolment operations on electoral registers.
Les réseaux sociaux sont également investis avec la publication quotidienne du planning de déploiement des équipes mobiles dans diverses localités, pour les opérations d’inscription sur les listes électorales.
