ELECAM goes digital

Digital campaigns at the heart of the electoral sensitisation of citizens

On this day, 22 April 2026, the Director General of Elections conducted the official launching of a far-reaching digital communication campaign on the principles applicable to the revision of electoral registers.

This launch took the form of a press briefing held in the presence of media professionals. During this event, the Director General outlined key aspects of the said campaign, its goals as well as the digital tools mobilised to reach the public at large, notably youths, women, persons with a disability and minority groups.

This campaign, covering 22 to 30 April 2026, has as objective to inform, raise awareness and educate citizens on operations relating to the revision of electoral registers. Likewise, the drive will encourage and guide the population towards official sources of information, in view of mitigating electoral disinformation and consolidating the credibility of Cameroon’s electoral process.

In this respect, the election management body hopes to boost transparency in the electoral process and the electoral participation of citizens.

Subsequently, every Cameroonian citizen not yet registered who must have reached the voting age of 20 must get enrolled on an electoral register at the ELECAM council branch within their area of residence not later than 31 August 2026.
