On Wednesday 10 June 2026, the headquarters of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) in Yaoundé hosted the official installation ceremony for a number of officials recently appointed to the support bodies of the Directorate General of Elections.
Chaired by the Director General of Elections, Dr Erik ESSOUSSE, this ceremony marks a new stage in the process of strengthening ELECAM’s institutional capacities, with a view to effectively meeting the growing demands associated with the organisation and management of elections in Cameroon.
Among those sworn in were Mrs Christelle Iris Léopoldine Nnomo (née Minlang), now Technical Adviser to the Director General of Elections, and Mr Serge Otya’a Bourdon, appointed Director of Election Operations and Referendums.
In his address to the new officials, the Director General of Elections emphasised the importance of the tasks entrusted to them and urged them to put their expertise, sense of duty and commitment at the service of the institution. He reiterated that the success of electoral processes depends on an efficient, rigorous administration that is fully committed to the values of professionalism, transparency and effectiveness.
This appointment is part of ELECAM’s ongoing drive to modernise and strengthen its capabilities. It reflects the institution’s commitment to having competent and dedicated staff to meet the challenges of organising inclusive, credible, transparent and peaceful elections, in accordance with its statutory duties.
