The 2026 revision of electoral registers has been underway across the country since January and will conclude on 31 August.

Under the provisions of Section 74 of the Electoral Code, electoral registers are permanent and are subject to an annual revision across the whole country. 

 “ELECAM’s vision for this 2026 revision is based primarily on the mass registration of women and youths on the electoral registers to ensure greater participation in the electoral process,” stated Erik Essousse, Director General of Elections, during the official launch ceremony for the electoral register revision operations on 12 January 2026 in Yaounde.

With this in mind, ELECAM teams are stepping up their strategies to register as many women and youths as possible on the electoral roll.  

In addition to registrations, the revision period also covers operations relating to deletion, modification and transfer.
